Welcome Andrew LaFleur

I am very pleased to introduce Andrew LaFleur, a seminarian of the Diocese of Bridgeport who will be staying at Holy Spirit Parish for a temporary assignment or “internship” for two months this summer. I had the opportunity to meet Andrew while he was a high school senior. He is a very fine seminarian and I am looking forward to the opportunity of having Andrew assist me in serving the parish community.

My name is Andrew LaFleur. I was born and raised in the Black Rock section of Bridgeport. I have one other sibling who is my fraternal twin brother. I am a huge fan of music in general. I like most types of music but especially country music. I like the arts and also like to read books, The Lord of the Rings is one of my favorites. My home parish is St. Ann’s in Bridgeport. It was through my experience in the parish that I came to hear the call from the Lord to be his Priest.

I grew up going to the parish school and then proceeded to go to Fairfield College Preparatory School. I then graduated from Fairfield Prep and entered Saint John Fisher Seminary, which is a College Seminary. I finished my time at Saint John Fisher with a Bachelor's Degree in Philosophy from Sacred Heart University and began my time at Saint Joseph’s Seminary in Yonkers, New York. I have just completed my Second Year of Theology and will begin my Third Year of Theology in the Fall. Next Spring/Summer, God willing, I will be ordained to the Transitional Diaconate.

I am looking forward to spending this summer at your parish and getting to know you all.
