First Holy Communion Rehearsals

For Communion A - Tuesday, Sept 29 from 4 - 5:30 PM
For Communion B -  Wednesday Oct 21 from 4 - 5:30 PM

Dress Codes: Your children are invited to wear the special First Communion outfit you planned for them. But this is not required. So, if you purchased a suit or dress last Spring and it fits, hurray at last they get to wear it! If it doesn’t fit and you’d rather not go out and buy another (is that even possible I wonder?) you are free to dress them up in their finest, whatever that may be. Same goes for shoes, wear the best pair that fits their feet and your budget. Don’t forget masks!
First Communicants will be receiving on the hand, so gloves can not be worn at time of Communion.
Photography: We will have a professional photographer who will take photos of your child receiving their First Communion and take candid shots before/after the ceremony. Please refrain from taking photos or videos during the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass.
Due to diocesan guidelines I am sorry that Father and parish staff will not be able to pose for photos with you before/after the mass. We will also not be taking any class group photos this year. However, your family is welcome to stay in the church and outside of it to take all the photos you wish, so long as everyone maintains proper social distancing.
Beginning at 9AM on both Oct 3 and Oct 24 the photographer will be available for posed photo sessions in Holy Family Hall.  Visit to sign up for a slot.
Seating & Number of Guests: Each Family will be seated together in their own pew with the Communicant seated on the center aisle.  So your guests should be people who can sit together safely.
Current state guidelines limit our capacity such that each family may only have *ten people, including the Communicant, in attendance. *updated October 10 as per CT phase 3
If your guests happen to be traveling to CT from a state on the Mandatory Quarantine list please be sure they arrive two weeks before the ceremony or file with the state of CT a negative COVID test taken within 72 hours before leaving their home state.
Arrival: The Saturday First Holy Communion Masses will begin promptly at 10:30 AM. Seating will be reserved. There will not be a procession at the start of the Mass, so when you arrive you will be seated in your assigned pew with your child on the aisle. Doors will open at 10 AM.
Flowers: We will not be providing boutonnieres for the boys to avoid contact between your child and our staff. If you wish your son to wear one you may provide your own and attach to his lapel at home. If you wish your daughter to wear flowers on her head or carry a nosegay, this is permitted. Please be certain the headband will not fall over her face as she goes up to receive and that her nosegay, if she has one, remains in the pew when she goes up to receive.
Programs: In accordance with Diocese and State guidelines we will not be able to distribute printed programs. In lieu of this, for the October Communion Masses you will receive your program via email the day before the Communion Mass. You may print these, if you wish, but this is not required.
