Conference and Benediction

Rev. Justin Cinnante, O.Carm

Holy Spirit will provide brown scapulars free of charge to the first 60 attendees

This Sunday, July 13th, at 3:00 PM, Fr. Justin Cinnante, O.Carm, will join us at Holy Spirit Church for a Holy Hour, offering a conference and the tremendous opportunity to invest those attending in the Brown Scapular.  Holy Spirit Church will provide Brown Scapulars.

The Brown Scapular, given by Our Lady of Mount Carmel to St. Simon Stock in 1251, consists of two small pieces of brown woolen cloth connected by cords, placed over the shoulders. Worn each day, this sacramental is a silent prayer and a perpetual reminder of the love of Our Blessed Mother as she draws us to the Sacred Heart of her Divine Son.  The scapular is a pledge to embrace a life of faith, daily prayer, and striving for holiness.  When Our Lady of Mount Carmel handed St. Simon Stock the Brown Scapular she said, “This shall be a privilege for you and all Carmelites, that anyone dying in this habit shall not suffer eternal fire.” The Church has extended this magnificent privilege to all who are invested and wear the Brown Scapular.
