Jesus summoned them and said to them, “You know that those who are recognized as rulers over the Gentiles lord it over them, and their great ones make their authority over them felt.  But it shall not be so among you. Rather, whoever wishes to be great among you will be your servant;  whoever wishes to be first among you will be the slave of all.  For the Son of Man did not come to be served but to serve and to give his life as a ransom for many.”

Mark 10:42-45

This group's name flows straight from gospel: Jesus taught that true greatness comes through being a servant (Mark 10:43-45), and He showed us the way by washing His disciples' feet (John 13). As baptized Catholics, we are all called to imitate Christ the Servant-prioritizing others' needs, building up the Body of Christ, and fostering the common good.

In the spirit of "The One," which invites us to deeper encounters with Christ and accompaniment in faith, the Servant Leadership Guild offers a practical way to respond: stay informed via regular emails about volunteer opportunities (one-time events or ongoing ministries), choose what fits your gifts and schedule-no minimum hours or mandatory roles required-and simply say "yes" when called to serve.
